If there is a God why does he allow suffering?

Q.7 What did God do with them?
'Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the Garden of Eden, to till the ground.' Genesis 3:24

Q.8 How did things progress?
Adam and Eve had two sons, Cain and Abel. 'And Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel and slew him.' This was the first murder. Genesis 4:8

Q.9 How did Jesus describe the devil?
Talking to a group of people who were sceptical of his teachings, Jesus said, 'Ye are of your father the devil. He was a murderer from the beginning…he is a liar and the father of it.' John 8:44. This is exactly what has happened. The devil had told Eve a direct lie, and it was not long before there was the very first murder. How do we know the serpent in the garden was the devil? In Revelation 12:9 all the information is given in full, with all his names. ‘And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world.’ He is the originator of all that is horrible in our world - the sickness, pain, disease, crying, sorrow, fear and death.

Q.10 This is how everything began to go wrong. How did God react?
In the Garden of Eden, God took the initiative to go and find Adam and Eve. He did not wait to see if they would go to Him. 'And the Lord God called unto Adam, where art thou?' He made it clear they had done wrong, but He made them a promise of a way out of their sinful predicament. They, and we, could be restored because a Substitute would come who would die in our place. We would all have a certain length of time to live, a life span, like a period of probation, to see if we will work with God's restoration plan. He loves our world, and all of us who live on it. He made us.

Q.11 How is God’s response to His spoiled world described?
‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.' John 3:16,17. Everything had been spoiled but God still loves us and does not condemn us. He shows us a way back to how we were intended to be, and that can begin today with the plan outlined on this website.

Q.12 What is God's eventual plan for those that do believe and obey him?
'Behold I make all things new.' Revelation 21:5. ‘For behold I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice forever in that which I create.’ Isaiah 65:17,18. Who will enjoy these pleasures? ' He that overcometh shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.' Revelation 21:7. Overcoming means to overcome the temptation to do the things we know are wrong. That means that every day we have to make conscious decisions about everything we do or say or think. Making choices for the right, and saying it out loud, at the same calling on God to give us the help to do it, will make our overcoming a reality.

Q.13 What else will we have the right to?
'Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the Tree of Life.' Revelation 22:14. This tree was also in the Garden of Eden and for those that overcome all temptations and this includes appetite-temptations too, the same tree will be restored to them. This will give us life and health as God intended it in the first place. Revelation 22: 1,2, describes it like this. ' And He showed me a pure river of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and the Lamb (The Lamb is Jesus) and in the midst of the street of it and on either side of the river, was there the Tree of Life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month.' (Italics supplied) It must look very beautiful, and it is actually there now,
