Trust in God

The hope perspective

If there is a God why does he allow suffering?

that he had transgressed the limits of science, yet 38 years later, comments like these were being made—’Good results could be got most quickly when a raw diet is given.’ If one eats mostly raw, fat is reduced and also the salt and added sugar levels.

Benner reports that Pythagoras and Socrates lived on raw foods and plain water. Pythagoras especially enjoyed a dish something like Bircher-Benner Swiss Muesli with fresh fruits and some honey.

He also writes of the Tupi-Guarani civilisation of lower Southern America which ate mostly raw food emphasising green leaves, they ate only what they needed for health with occasional days of fasting, and it was said, ‘Their aged go about like youths and proudly hold up their heads.’ The words whole and health come from the same root and to be healthy one must eat whole-foods and if the higher proportion is raw so much the better for health. This gives the fibres and the right balance of substances as naturally grown from the earth.

He postulated that raw foods overcome constipation that can lead to so many health problems, and depressions,. They reduce the salt levels in the body, they give more energy and stamina, and that the minerals and nutritional substances in raw foods reach right into the tiny blood vessels in our bodies. It helps rid the body of infections and takes the strain off the body that is imposed on it by processed foods. (And he was not writing this today with all the processing that we have in our food stuffs.)

His rule was ‘Green Leaves Every Day’!

The secret is to experiment and enjoy your food. To eat raw does not mean that you cannot have something hot, but always make sure to have a generous fruit or vegetable salad too. The key to raw eating is to aim for many colours. Colour means goodness. And of course, if it is a meal outdoors then so much the better! Bon Appetit!
