Trust in God

The hope perspective

If there is a God why does he allow suffering?

2C tomato juice
2t soy sauce
1/4 dried brown lentils
1/2t mixed herbs
Chop potato and onion, add other ingredients and cook for an hour simmering gently till beans are cooked. Put in food processor to make a smooth sauce.

2C water
1T onion powder
2T oil
1T yeast flakes
1/4 t salt
1/4 t garlic powder
3T soy sauce
1T cornflour(starch)

Blend all ingredients on high for 2-3 minutes until completely creamy
Pour into a saucepan and cook on medium heat until thin=ck, stirring continuously.
Serve over any nut roast, or vegetable cutlets, and potatoes.

SAUCE FOR WHITE BEANS
Soak and cook any of the larger dried white beans. Make the sauce for them as follows.

4 dates chopped or 1T date syrup
1 large can chopped tomatoes
3T lemon juice
I onion chopped and sautéed to emphasise the flavour.
1/4 t oregano
1/4t garlic powder or a crushed clove or fresh garlic
Seasoning to taste.
Place all in a casserole dish for 1 hour or longer at 180C

SAUCE FOR BLACK BEANS
1/2 litre water
1 onion sautéed
1 clove crushed garlic
2T tomato puree
1t Cumin
1t Oregano
Juice of half a lemon
Add beans and place all in a casserole. Cook slowly for 1 hour in a covered casserole dish. Serve with wholegrain rice.
This can also be made thinner and used as a soup with crusty bread.

These sample recipes are demonstrating ways in which simple dried beans can make a meal, that is satisfying, warm and nutritious.

Forgotten ingredients! Add liberally to your meal!
Thankfulness, contentment, good company,
peace of heart, and a sense of adventure.

“Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him above ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.”
